Our
focus in the coming year will be emphasizing on the membership drive
where we realized that there are still a large number of graduates
from Japan who still has not joined JAGAM. Over the past few months,
JAGAM has regularly appeared in most of the major newspapers in
Malaysia on issues/ activities relating to JAGAM and our aim is
to create an image/ awareness that JAGAM is a worthwhile association
and beneficial for them to join JAGAM."
JAGAM is also recognized as the leading Association / Body to conduct
the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International
Students (EJU), Japan Education Fair, Japan College Fair etc and
this evidenced the importance of JAGAM to be an important Japan
Alumni in Malaysia. JAGAM is also a chapter of ASEAN COUNCIL OF
JAPAN ALUMNI (ASCOJA) where we hope to strengthen the relationship
and cooperation among the ASEAN countries to create business opportunity
besides cultural activities for members in future.
Besides that, we are also a liaison body with Asia Japan Alumni
(ASJA) International in offering scholarships for Post-graduate
Program to qualified candidates who are keen in pursuing post-graduate
degree in Japan in specialized field and we are striving to get
more places in the future for Malaysian.
Further, it is JAGAM fervent hope that the programs under the Look
East Policy by the Government should continue and to enable all
Malaysians to participate in all the programs (if such measure is
yet to be adopted by the Government). I do wish to appeal to all
those in the fields of education or those having information regarding
number of students sent under these programs (Look East Policy)
and also those private funded students who pursue education in Japan
to forward to us these information for our future reference.
Finally, Jagam has carried out the usual activities/ events over
the past year – Jagam nite, Monthly Health and Special Talk,
Birthday Gathering and Japan Festival in Malaysia (JFM) Also we
hope in the very near future, JAGAM will be able to invite the Japanese
Nobel Laureate to have a public lecture in Malaysia . Thank you.
